A little introvert by nature but during interviews he speaks his heart out.So everyone thought he would be arrogant. Hence he got the nickname "Rayappan". At initial stages of his career he did many films, some were commercial hits while some were utter flops. Later he became more selective and now doing wonderfully in the industry. He showed courage to act as a Gay in Mumbai Police(Movie) where nobody else wouldn't show courage.
His movies Mumbai Police, Memories, Ennu ninte Moidheen,7th Day,Aayalum Njanum Thammil etc were block busters. He is the only actor whose fims are consistently hit in box office and at the same time have good quality story line.

He proved he can do not only serious roles but also comedy roles by acting in 'Amar Akbar Anthony'
